BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Two years ago they found a lump...

I was called back to review some suspicious areas on my annual mammogram. We were still under Covid protocols at the time so no one could come to offer emotional support as I underwent additional testing. After the diagnostic mammogram with ultrasound I was told to go back to the dressing room and wait. I can't remember exactly how long I sat there waiting but it felt like hours. It was hot in there so I sat on the bench with the door open. Perhaps that was a nudge from the Good Lord Above as He surely sent an angel my way shortly thereafter.

An older lady walked by and started chatting (those that know me well know that usually I am the one to strike up conversations with strangers😂). She talked about how she had already undergone treatment for having breast cancer in one breast and now she was back as they suspected she might have cancer in the other. Despite having gone through this before (or maybe because she had gone through it before) and potentially facing another battle, she was so upbeat and reassuring to me. During the course of our conversation, I came to realize that this angel standing before me was in fact no stranger (hard to tell with face masks and a few years of not having seen someone). This dear sweet lady and her husband used to attend church with us. After realizing that we knew each other, we embraced and caught up on each other's families.

Eventually I was called back to visit with the doctor where I received the good news that the suspicious spot was only a cyst that would likely be reabsorbed into my body. My friend's diagnosis was a bit more ominous and in fact she lost her battle to the disease some months later.

Even prior to this potentially scary diagnosis, I have always been a champion for breast cancer awareness and support, having had family members and friends who each fought this disease with varying success. It was a big part of my previous direct sales business and has been a huge part of my Lemongrass Spa journey. Whenever someone I know is diagnosed with cancer and has to undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatments, I try to send them our Loving Care Gift Set. It's a collection of three products, all of which can be purchased individually, that are ultra nourishing to the skin and help repair and moisturize the skin from the ravages of these potent drugs that fight off the disease. During the month of October, we have curated a special collection of PINK products and a portion of the sales of each are donated to a variety of organizations that help with breast cancer research.

Curated with input from breast cancer survivors, this box contains 4 products that are essential to helping nourish and repair skin from the ravages of chemotherapy and radiation. I can only image the love that will be felt by anyone who receives one of these from a friend or family member. Boxes can be ordered individually or in a set of 3.

October also happens to be my anniversary with Lemongrass Spa! This year, I'm proud to be celebrating 7 years of having partnered with this amazing company.

To honor that milestone, I'm gifting 7 of our Pink Boxes of Hope to people who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. If you know of anyone that is currently fighting this battle, please consider nominating them to receive one of these boxes from me. You can even include a personalized note to the recipient. Once the 7 boxes have been sent out, I will still take nominees to receive a Pink Healing Stick.

JOIN ME IN BLESSING OTHERS! I'd love if you would consider sponsoring a Pink Healing Stick in honor of someone you know who has fought this battle. These will be donated to the Triple T Foundation for Breast Cancer. This is run by a former teammate of mine who has fought (and beaten) breast cancer and is now helping make life a little easier for others who are now facing the battle. Each stick is $15. (I will cover tax and shipping.)
