Sue Ellen Hale, Team Manager
& Independent Stylist
Hi, y'all! I'm Sue Ellen from Texas, and I was named BEFORE the TV character on the old show, Dallas. lol
I'm a fire wife and homeschooling mom of 4. My son graduated last year and the girls are 16, almost 14, and 12. I've been a quiet, country girl all of my life and a Bible-loving Christian for over 40 years! I love to garden (veggies & flowers), I love animals and being outdoors. Our little homestead includes dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and goats, and the kids add guinea pigs and rabbits.
I have been a Lilla Rose Stylist since May 4, 2011. Late one night, while I was nursing baby #4, I decided to take the plunge, sight unseen. I figured with this many girls, we were going to need a lot of hair accessories! And we have!
I enjoy introducing women to the amazing accessories & hair care that Lilla Rose has to offer, and helping you find beautiful solutions for your hair. One of my favorite things is when a new customer puts a Flexi-Clip in her hair for the first time, then looks in the mirror (or phone) and is shocked by how GOOD her hair looks! I've seen women come to tears; I've seen them exclaim how long it's been since they thought their hair actually looked good; I've seen little girls light up when they realize that's them; I've seen friends standing by watching, exclaim over how good she looks. Don't we all need to hear, see, and feel that we're beautiful?!
In 2016, I was honored to receive a visit and interview with the founder of Lilla Rose, John Dorsey! You can watch that old interview here, if you'd like. Since the beginning, Lilla Rose has been a very special place in our family. I've been able to travel and speak at national conventions, host the founder, and help put on regional conventions. I've met wonderful Lilla Sisters and teammates and literally hundreds of wonderful women who let me play with their hair at vendor events. My children have grown up without elastics and plastic claws, but with growing business sense and entrepreneurship.
On July 31, 2020, I became an Independent Consultant with Mary & Martha (Christian books, gifts, decor, serving pieces, cards, etc). Yep, I took the leap in the thick of the pandemic, because I loved the vision of M&M - to bring hope & encouragement to every home, every day. That was a time when the whole world desperately needed some hope & encouragement... and I believe the world still needs it.
I enjoy being the place friends & family, as well as my Lilla Rose clients and new people I'm now meeting through M&M, can find high quality Christian gifts, cards, books, and home decor, since so many Christian book stores have closed in the last few years. M&M is a division of DaySpring, which is part of the Hallmark company, so you can count on our cards, gifts and decor to be excellent, heirloom quality.
I also enjoy the ministry side of M&M, by sharing online Bible studies with women, ministering to hurting people, offering faith building tools for families, encouraging women to open their Bibles, and participating in fundraisers like the children's book drive for a local pregnancy center. M&M also supports the ministry of Compassion International in Tanzania, Africa, with every order that goes through my website. I love having a worldwide impact! ...and adding the beautiful, scripture-filled pieces to my own home! Mary & Martha has been a perfect fit for me!
I also serve on the Board of Directors for our homeschool co-op organization, and our family is actively involved in our church. One of the highlights of my year is taking a group of teenagers to serve at the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Processing Center! Anyone is welcome to join my Scripture Writing & Encouragement group on Facebook, where I hope to encourage people to spend daily time getting into the Word of God.
Let's stay in touch and celebrate life together!
I am easiest to reach by text. I use an app called Project Broadcast, so you're welcome to text me 24/7, and I will get the message during business hours. To connect with me, text the word HELLO to 254-988-7217. From there, you'll be directed to my Connection Form and I'll know how to get in touch with you. Thanks!

Purple. It's often associated with royalty, nobility, wisdom, creativity, devotion, peace. It rarely occurs in nature, compared to other colors, though I add more purple to my gardens every year. Purple uplifts the spirit, calms nerves, and encourages imagination. Purple is feminine and graceful, yet also strong and brave. Purple is cheerful and encouraging. Purple is Me!
