Nicole's Kick Lyme to the Curb
T-Shirt and Journal Fundraiser

We invite you to join us in supporting Nicole Flenniken whose strength and faith have been tested by chronic Lyme disease for over a decade.

Nicole’s been confined to her parents’ home for the last 14 years by debilitating nausea, fatigue, and nerve pain. That nerve pain often leaves her feeling like she’s being electrocuted, and her body responds to noise or even a slight breeze with intensified pain. The foods her body processes have grown increasingly limited.

As she has persevered through these limitations and the isolation that comes with them, though, Nicole has not lost her love for God and people. Her deep trust and her quiet rest have only grown as she has continued to pursue Christ through the pain.

In November of 2022, God provided for Nicole to begin receiving pulse antibiotic therapy from the Jemsek Specialty Clinic in Washington, DC. And he’s met her financial needs for each month of treatment since.

Now, with a reduced $7,500+ per monthly price tag, (down from $10,000 as of Dec.1st 2023), the cost of this treatment that has helped many is daunting. Nicole has been unable to work since 2009 and spends a large portion of her monthly disability check on insurance. This treatment, like most for chronic Lyme, however, isn’t covered by insurance.

Because her weakened body requires a slower pace of antibiotic therapy than others might manage, Nicole needs roughly 6 or more months of this treatment. Many have given generously to help with past treatment, but this new protocol provides an opportunity once again to invest in what God is doing in Nicole. Please consider helping to meet her financial need by purchasing the items below (all proceeds go to treatment cost) or by making a donation.

Be encouraged by Nicole’s confident faith in God’s goodness as you watch this video.

A little bit about Nicole...

Prior to Lyme, Nicole's hobbies included running, biking, hiking, and SCUBA diving. She was invested both in teaching (at home and in the South Pacific) and in working on a degree to prepare for further ministry abroad. Love for God and for people—internationals in particular—drove her.

While the same things drive Nicole today, wracking nerve and bone pain has left her unable to work. Though she’s had to relinquish the active life she would have chosen, she has pursued Christ hard in the quiet and has chosen to delight in him in the darkness.

As her condition has worsened over the years, she has prayed for wisdom about a new treatment plan.

That treatment, however, is expensive and not covered by insurance. In one of her blog posts, Nicole says, “I understand that both by healing and by withholding healing, God is glorified.” As her friends, we’ve witnessed God receive great glory through her response to Him in the midst of her

suffering. He has made her a showcase of his power. We’ve also watched her health decline this last year, and we’re praying for God to magnify himself by restoring her physically. Please join us in praying.

Nicole has many needs in addition to her financial that need bathed in prayer.
